You are not going to believe me when I tell you that this amazing Chicken Parmesan recipe was made in an air fryer…. in just TEN MINUTES! If you haven’t hopped on the air fryer bandwagon, then you are probably spending way too much time in the kitchen!

This recipe took about 10 minutes to prepare and another 10 minutes to cook. I have always loved chicken parmesan. There is something so perfect about a breaded chicken breast, smothered in mozzarella and parmesan cheese and then covered with marinara sauce.

What kept me from making this dish often was the frying process. It is always so messy to pan fry anything. Weeknight dinners have to be easy, quick and bonus points if the clean up process is minimal. This is why I am now obsessed with making this delicious classic dish in my air fryer.

INGREDIETS YOU WILL NEED FOR THIS RECIPE

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • The New Primal “poultry seasoning” (or any Italian style seasoning)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • marinara sauce (I love Rao’s)
  • graded mozzarella cheese

EGG WASH + PANKO BREADING STEPS

NEXT STEPS…

Once you have your chicken breasts nice and coated. Place them on a cooling rack while you set up your air fryer.

Preheat your air fryer at 400 degrees (F) and set the timer to ten minutes.

Once your air fryer is ready to go, carefully place your breaded chicken breasts onto the fryer basket and begin the cooking process. Cook your chicken breast for 5 minutes on one side…

After the first five minutes are done…

Flip your panko and parmesan coated chicken breast and place about 1-2 tablespoons of marinara sauce on top, spread it around a little bit, then top with mozzarella cheese. Then back in the air fryer for the remaining 5 minutes.

Once your timer is up, your Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan should come out bubbling with a nicely melted coating of mozzarella cheese on top.

What I love to do is pour some additional warmed marinara sauce on a large serving dish, then place the chicken parmesan on top.

Serve directly from the serving dish and feel free to add even more marinara to your dish if you are feeling it!

  • 2 chicken breasts butterfly cut in half to create two equal width pieces
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp TNP poultry seasoning or italian seasoning
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • Once your air fryer is preheated, place your breaded chicken breast inside the air frying basket and close to begin cooking process.
  • Half way through (at the five minute mark), flip your chicken breast over. Carefully coat top of chicken breast with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese. Close air fryer and continue cooking for remaining 5 minutes.
  • While you wait for your chicken parmesan to finish cooking, pour some warmed marinara sauce on a large serving dish. Then place your finished chicken parmesan on top of the marinara.
