How to cook a bone in pork butt in the crockpot
Slow cooking a chunk of pork butt is fairly simple to do in a crockpot. All you need are a few ingredients and a reliable slow cooker that can tenderize this fatty piece of meat in about eight to ten hours.
Here is everything you need to cook a bone in pork butt in the crockpot
- 5 pound bone in pork butt
- juice from one orange
- 1 teaspoon of pink salt
- one pack of Siete brand carnitas seasoning
- 1/2 cup chicken stock
This is how simple it is to make pulled pork using bone in pork butt
- Rub down your bone in pork butt with the Siete brand carnitas seasoning (or something similar) plus salt.
- Then place the pork butt in the crockpot.
- Pour in the juice of one orange and chicken stock.
- Slow cook on LOW for 10 hours.
- Once it’s done, carefully remove bone in pork butt from crockpot and place in a large Pyrex.
- Remove the bone and excess fat and shred by using two forks.
